CROWN SHRED & RECYCLING'S REACTION TO A CITY COUNCIL VOTE

Jack Shaw of Crown Shred & Recycling said in a Leader Post interview that his company is not going to respond to the Collection RFP in the citywide curbside recycling service in the City of Regina. Instead, Crown Shred & Recycling is going to apply for the materials recycling facility that will handle the material from the collector.

Crown Shred & Recycling wants to assure our existing customers that a comprehensive plan is in place to provide full service to them until the City plan goes into place in your area.

Please check out the Leader Post Link before for more information about the city's decision.

The comments stated in the letter from Mr. Moen are strictly those of the author and do not reflect in any way the position of Crown Shred & Recycling Inc. in this matter.

Here is a copy of a letter I've sent to the mayor and my councillor:

    Your Worship and Councillor Brown,

My name is Darcy Moen. I presented to you a few months back in response to the City's proposed utilitizing curb side recycling in Regina. As I had tried to warn you in my presentation, you have now successfully p*ssed off the current recycling businesses, and so complicated the natural free market for recycling, that the businesses that provide tax dollars, employment, and much needed services, would rather quit operating in Regina entirely than provide their business services and jobs to the 'greater good' of Regina.

Congratulations for killing off a once viable industry.

Next time, keep your hands off the free market and let it do what it does best: work.

If you really care about this city, why not do something useful, and simply drop this wasted effort called curbside recycling, and let the free market take over. Admit defeat, and quit messing where government does not belong.
